Τέφας Αναστάσιος

Anastasios Tefas received the B.Sc. in informatics in 1997 and the Ph.D. degree in informatics in 2002, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 2017 he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 2008 to 2017, he was a Lecturer, Assistant Professor at the same University. From 2006 to 2008, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Management, Technological Institute of Kavala. From 2003 to 2004, he was a temporary lecturer in the Department of Informatics, University of Thessaloniki. From 1997 to 2002, he was a researcher and teaching assistant in the Department of Informatics, University of Thessaloniki. Dr. Tefas participated in 20 research projects financed by national and European funds. He is the Coordinator of the H2020 project OpenDR, “Open Deep Learning Toolkit for Robotics”. He is Area Editor in Signal Processing: Image Communications journal. He has co-authored 130 journal papers, 239 papers in international conferences and contributed 8 chapters to edited books in his area of expertise. Over 6500 citations have been recorded to his publications and his H-index is 40 according to Google scholar. His current research interests include computational intelligence, deep learning, pattern recognition, statistical machine learning, digital signal and image analysis and retrieval and computer vision.

Τσουμάκας Γρηγόριος

Grigorios Tsoumakas (male) is an Associate Professor of Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery at the School of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in Greece. He received a degree in Computer Science from AUTH in 1999, an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in 2000 and a PhD in Computer Science from AUTH in 2005. His research expertise focuses on supervised learning techniques (ensemble methods, multi-target prediction) and natural language processing (semantic indexing, keyphrase extraction, summarization). He has published more than 150 research papers and according to Google Scholar he has more than 16,000 citations and an h-index of 50. Dr. Tsoumakas is a senior member of ACM and IEEE. His honors include receiving the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD) 10-Year Test of Time Award in 2017 and the Marco Ramoni best paper award at the 19th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIME 2021). He is an advocate of applied research that matters and has worked as a machine learning engineer, researcher and consultant in several national, international, and private sector funded R&D projects. In February 2019 he co-founded Medoid AI, a spin-off company of AUTH developing AI solutions based on machine learning technology.

Σκοτεινός Ηρακλής

Iraklis Skoteinos holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, a MSc degree in Energy: Strategy, Law & Economics and a Master in Business Administration. He started his career as a research associate at the Electrical Systems Laboratory of School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in National Technical University of Athens under supervision of Dr. N. Hatziargyriou and he has participated in various European projects related with Energy Markets and Renewable Energy Sources. He has worked as an energy trader and energy manager at the Department of Energy Management and Trading of PPC SA for five years. He was also a founding member of Volton SA, an energy supply and trading company in Greece, in which he worked as Head of the Energy Department. He has worked at the Independent Power Transmission Operator of Greece as Director of the Market Management Department and was responsible for optimal operation and settlement of the Greek Balancing Market. During that period he was a BoD Member of the Hellenic Energy Exchange, a member of the Market Committee of ENTSO-E and a BoD member of SEE CAO. He currently works as a Director of Short-Term Trading Department of PPC SA and is responsible for optimal participation of all PPC energy portfolios (generation, demand, aggregation) in the wholesale spot markets. His interests are electricity markets, market regulation and energy sector digitalization.

Κρηνίδης Στέλιος

Prof. Stelios Krinidis is Assistant Professor at the department of Management Science and Technology at the International Hellenic University (IHU). He has also served as an adjunct lecturer at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Democritus University of Thrace, and at the Technological Institute of Kavala during the period 2005-2012. From 2012 until 2021 was a senior postdoctoral researcher at Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). Since January 2022, he also is an Academic Research Partner at CERTH.

His main research interests include computational intelligence, signal processing and analysis, pattern recognition, data analysis, data analytics, energy flexibility, non-intrusive load monitoring, building performance, building optimization, decision making techniques, visual analytics, etc. He has authored more than one hundred thirty (140) papers in international scientific peer review journals and conferences. He has also been involved in more than thirty (30) research projects funded by the EC and the Greek secretariat of Research and Technology.

Νικολόπουλος Βασίλειος

Ο Δρ. Βασίλης Νικολόπουλος είναι επικεφαλής του Applied R&D, Technology και Digital Innovation του τομέα Ενέργειας της, MYTILINEOS SA, και CTO της spin off τεχνολογικής startup Avokado. Είναι διδάκτωρ Μηχανικός του Ε.Μ.Π. σε θέματα Ενεργειακής Πληροφορικής και Μαθηματικών αλγορίθμων, με 25ετή εμπειρία σε τομείς δημιουργίας νέων καινοτόμων προϊόντων και υπηρεσιών. Ιδρυτής της deeptech εταιρίας Intelen, Inc, μια από τις πιο επιτυχημένες scaleups Ελληνικές εταιρίες στον χώρο της ενέργειας, που ασχολήθηκε με την ανάλυση ενεργειακών δεδομένων και την ψηφιακή αλληλεπίδραση του ανθρώπου με την κατανάλωση ενέργειας.

Επικεντρώνεται στους τρόπους μετατροπής των καινοτόμων αποτελεσμάτων της έρευνας σε προϊόντα και υπηρεσίες). Έχει διακρίσεις και βραβεία σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο σε τομείς καινοτομίας και νέων επιχειρηματικών ιδεών (ΟΟΣΑ, Silicon Valley, Βραβείο Κούρος, Cebit). Στο συγγραφικό του έργο περιλαμβάνονται ένα βιβλίο για τα υπολογιστικά δίκτυα και πάνω από 50 δημοσιεύσεις και άρθρα για την ενέργεια, την καινοτομία και την τεχνολογία. Διετέλεσε μέλος του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου Ανταγωνιστικότητας και Ανάπτυξης (ΕΣΑΑ, τομέας Καινοτομία) το 2012, είναι επισκέπτης Λέκτορας στο ΕΜΠ, το ΑΠΘ, το ΠΑΠΕΙ και στο Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας.

Αριστούχος Ηλεκτρολόγος Μηχανικός στο Πανεπιστήμιο Dundee, με διευρυμένες σπουδές στο Imperial College, το London School of Economics, την γαλλική Ecole Polytechnique και διδακτορικό από το Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο. Επίσης, έχει παρακολουθήσει διάφορα μαθήματα στο HarvardX (Harvard University).
